TAMKO has introduced HailGuard shingles, an asphalt roofing system designed to improve impact resistance amid rising hail-related damage and insurance costs. The shingles meet UL 2218 Class 4 standards and feature ImpactCore technology, combining polymer-modified asphalt with an engineered fiberglass mat.

The formulation is designed to increase impact resistance, improve granule adhesion, and slow UV degradation compared to conventional modified asphalt shingles. The system is engineered to withstand higher impact energy levels than standard Class 4 testing requirements. A key feature is a hail-specific warranty covering leaks caused by hail up to 3 inches in diameter, subject to installation requirements and qualifying components.

HailGuard shingles are available in dimensional color blends and are positioned as a system-based approach that integrates material performance with warranty-backed protection.

The Vada Vented Roof System is a single-ply roofing approach that concentrates mechanical attachment and reinforcement at the roof perimeter while using vents across the field area. This design is intended to address wind uplift by strengthening edge zones—where pressure is highest—while reducing the need for fasteners and adhesives in the central roof area.

The system incorporates roof vents that continuously remove residual moisture from the assembly, helping limit trapped vapor and potential degradation. By shifting materials away from the field, the system reduces drilling into cementitious decks such as concrete or gypsum, which may lower labor requirements and minimize deck damage. The design has been used since 1987 without major modification and is eligible for no-dollar-limit warranties from major single-ply manufacturers.

ProVia’s residential metal roofing system is designed to improve durability and weather resistance through a combination of material thickness, panel design, and protective coatings. The system features a four-way, multi-point locking mechanism in its shake and slate profiles, intended to enhance structural integrity and long-term performance under severe conditions.

Constructed from 26-gauge steel, the panels are thicker than many competing metal roofing products while remaining lighter than traditional asphalt shingles. The material is paired with factory-applied coatings that provide resistance to dirt, mildew, and staining, helping maintain appearance over time.

The roofing system also incorporates weather-resistant finishes with solar-reflective pigments designed to reduce heat absorption and support energy efficiency.

As a complete roofing assembly, the product is positioned as a low-maintenance, long-term solution for residential applications, combining mechanical interlocking, protective finishes, and durable steel construction to address performance and lifecycle considerations.

Polyglass USA announced that several of its roofing underlayments and self-adhered membranes now comply with the FORTIFIED Roof standard developed by the Insurance Institute for Business & Home Safety. The program establishes construction guidelines intended to help buildings better withstand severe weather, including high winds, hail and heavy rain.

With the designation, Polyglass products can be used as components in roofing systems built to meet FORTIFIED Roof requirements. The materials are designed to support enhanced wind resistance, moisture protection and long-term durability in storm-prone regions.

Products eligible for use in FORTIFIED Roof assemblies include self-adhered membranes such as Polystick IR-Xe, TU P, TU MAX, TU Plus, P, MTS Plus, MX and Polystrip SA. Anchor sheets include Polyanchor HV and SU. Fire-rated options include Polystick XFR, Polyanchor XFR, Polyflex SA P FR and Elastoflex SA V FR.

According to the company, the products are intended for contractors and builders seeking materials that meet the program’s performance criteria for storm-resistant roofing. Additional installation requirements and eligibility conditions apply under the FORTIFIED Roof program.

MuleHide has expanded its edge metal product line with the introduction of Nailer-T, a wood nailer alternative, and eight new extruded fascia systems for low-slope roofing applications.

Nailer-T is designed to replace traditional wood nailers at roof perimeters, improving structural integrity and reducing the risk of wind-related failure. Made from heavy-gauge extruded aluminum, it resists moisture, rot and insect damage while supporting increased insulation thickness at the roof edge.
