AMKO Certified Contractors can be among the first to experience EagleView Assess, an innovative new drone service that helps contractors visualize roof damage quickly. According to a release from TAMKO, contractors have discounted access to EagleView’s aerial roof measurement reports due to a new program provided through the TAMKO Edge contractor loyalty program.

TAMKO Certified Contractors can now use EagleView Assess’s simple-to-fly drones to capture detailed, high-resolution images of a structure and generate automated damage reports and measurements for fast and accurate repair estimates. The new EagleView Assess drones include automatic obstacle detection, which maps each flight path to avoid trees, chimneys, and other potential dangers. EagleView handles insurance requirements, drone repairs, and replacement through the program and even assists with operator training for participating contractors.

“At TAMKO, we’re focused on innovation and technology, and EagleView’s new drone program is a great fit with our efforts to push the roofing industry forward with the products and tools of the future,” said Alex Hines, TAMKO vice president of sales and marketing. “This new benefit in the TAMKO Edge contractor loyalty program offers value to our contractors in terms of savings and efficiency.”

TAMKO Certified Contractors who sign up through Sept. 30 receive an exclusive discount on the monthly Assess subscription rate plus hundreds of dollars of free EagleView reports for an estimated value to contractors of nearly $1,000 in savings during the first year. After Sept. 30, the program continues with savings, including an exclusive monthly discount plus five free EagleView Premium roof reports.

“EagleView has a vision for the future where roofing companies spend less time on administrative activities and more time fixing roofs,” said Piers Dornmeyer, CEO of EagleView. “This program helps us to continue to support the roofer by streamlining the bothersome and dangerous task of taking roofing measurements.”

TAMKO states all of its Certified Contractors can access EagleView’s gold-level pricing on roof reports. TAMKO’s top-tier MasterCraft Pro Contractors can receive additional savings on mid-size premium roof reports.

Now in its fifth year, Beacon of Hope, the program developed by Beacon Building Supply to provide roofing at no cost to military veterans in need, is seeking nominations for worthy individuals whose needs outstrip their financial wherewithal.

The program is open to all military veterans, honoring those who have gone above and beyond to serve. In an Aug. 15 news release, Beacon said it and local roofing companies will deliver and facilitate a safe, durable roof for 10 winners at no cost to the recipients. The new roof will feature TRI-BUILT products, Beacon’s private label brand.

“In four years, Beacon has installed 42 roofs to secure veterans’ homes; working hand-in-hand with local community and industry partners, we take immense pride in contributing to the well-being of veterans’ lives,” said Jonathan Bennett, Beacon’s chief commercial officer. “We created the Beacon of Hope program to express our appreciation for their service and ensure these veterans have a safe place to call home.”

Until Oct. 6, 2023, the public can nominate a U.S. or Canadian veteran at the Beacon of Hope website or submit an e-mail to beaconofhope@becn.com. Nominations must include a photo and short bio of the veteran, including their military branch, years of service and why the nominee deserves a new roof.

All veterans are eligible. A panel will select 10 grand-prize winners and announce results on Friday, Nov. 10, the day before Americans celebrate Veteran’s Day.

HCI Equity Partners, a lower middle-market private equity firm, announced in a news release that its newly established platform, Highland Roofing, acquired Skycraft Roofing on Aug. 1. Financial terms were not disclosed.

Highland, headquartered in Baldwin Park, Calif., is a commercial roofing contractor that performs roof repair and maintenance services to a mix of commercial, industrial, office and multi-family properties. The company operates in five regions: Southern California, Northern California, Arizona, Nevada and the Pacific Northwest.

Highland said its roof repair product offering includes sprayed polyurethane foam, single-ply and a product known as the RainShield solution. The company said its core customers are real estate development and property management companies that provide Highland with sales opportunities across the Western U.S.

"This is a great day for Highland and the future of the company," said Rob Keen, Highland’s president. "We're proud of the service levels we've already established in Southern California and excited that working with the Skycraft team will enable us to deepen our service offerings and relationships in the area."

Skycraft, founded in 1958 and based in Buena Park, Calif., has been family-owned and operated by Mark and Phillip Mulligan for more than 50 years. HCI said Skycraft has a loyal commercial and industrial customer base in the greater Los Angeles area and specializes in single-ply and built-up roofing systems, coatings, maintenance and repairs.

Skycraft will continue to operate as a standalone entity within the Highland group of companies.

HCI said Highland would benefit from Skycraft's single-ply capabilities and additional crews, while Skycraft's customers gain immediate access to Highland's commercial roofing services in several neighboring states.

Scott Gibaratz, a partner at HCI, said: "We are very pleased that Skycraft, with its strong performance and long-term, loyal customers, will be part of the growth of Highland as we take this first step in building out HCI's commercial roofing platform."
