The U.S. Department of Labor has scheduled National Apprenticeship Week for April 26–May 2, 2026, moving the annual workforce celebration to spring. This nationwide event highlights how Registered Apprenticeship programs expand career pathways for workers, support employers, and contribute to economic growth across sectors, including skilled trades, advanced manufacturing, and emerging technologies.

The 2026 theme—“America at Work: Making America Skilled Again Through Registered Apprenticeship”—ties into broader workforce development goals as the nation commemorates its 250th anniversary and prioritizes a skilled, future-ready labor force. Secretary of Labor Lori Chavez-DeRemer emphasized the program’s role in equipping Americans for high-paying, in-demand jobs. Events across all 50 states and territories will showcase success stories, engage stakeholders, and promote apprenticeship as a key strategy to address workforce shortages.

QXO Inc. has agreed to acquire Kodiak Building Partners from Court Square Capital Partners for approximately $2.25 billion in cash and stock, including $2 billion in cash and 13.2 million shares. The deal, expected to close in early Q2 2026, values Kodiak at about 10.7 times 2025 EBITDA. Kodiak generated $2.4 billion in revenue across 110 locations in 2025. QXO said the acquisition will significantly expand its market reach beyond roofing into broader building products. Analysts say the deal could disrupt roofing distribution through greater scale, centralized purchasing and technology-driven efficiencies, while insulation impacts may develop more gradually.
