The COVID-19 pandemic continues to create uncertainty for many industries, and many states have started to issue statewide restrictions and closures attempting to slow the spread. However, with roofing contractors working remotely, roofing and construction are considered “essential business.”
Despite the ongoing pandemic, a new Freedonia Group analysis predicts the U.S. roofing demand to edge up to 253 million squares in 2024, including strong demand for residential roofing. To prepare for the strong demand, contractors can implement various technologies during the offseason to keep their business running remotely and efficiently, even during a crisis.
Innovations in technology give contractors the ability to manage their projects online from the job site, at the office, and now, even more important than ever, from home. Incorporating and learning about the latest technology can help contractors manage their business from virtually anywhere. Contractors should consider adding the following solutions to their toolbox this offseason:
Creating a sense of security and trust with homeowners is critical, especially now. Implementing technology is an excellent way for contractors to connect with customers. For example, Beacon Building Products’ customers have access to BeaconPRO+, a unique digital platform like no other in the industry. With BeaconPRO+, contractors can effectively manage their accounts safely and remotely; and using Beacon’s PRO+ suite of efficiency tools, contractors can track business anywhere from estimate to order.
As the end date for the COVID-19 pandemic remains unknown, technology allows all team members to stay on track to finish projects, no matter where they are working. It will play a pivotal role in keeping roofing contractors’ businesses open and moving forward after the crisis clears and the demand for new roofs grows.
